About Us

City Direct is an award winning private public transport company that was established in 1999. This is our 20th year operating a public transport network in Galway City. We provide scheduled bus services on the west side of Galway city.

All of our vehicles are installed with on-board defibrillators, to ensure a safer environment for our passengers and provide them with the best possible service.

We have become the first bus operator in the country to install on-board defibrillators and to have our drivers trained to respond to victims of cardiac arrest, stroke, choking and heart attack/

​Our bus network has been expanding as a result of positive factors including dedicated bus lanes, service reliability, increased accessibility, the need to minimise the carbon footprint of the fleet to tackle air quality, a multimedia approach to travel information and steady growth in the number of passengers travelling on our mode of transport.
